Hello…
Hello. My name is Tiago de Freitas Lima, and I like cycling, running, and a few other things like cats. Also, I work as a software engineer a few years ago and I suppose this topic will occupy most of the time here. Maybe you are here because of that.
I’ve tried to start a blog several times in the past. I enjoy blogs, I read a lot of them; other media like Youtube videos or podcasts are boring to me (yes, I’m old). I think the reason why I like blogs is that I like to think about what I’m reading. And I like to discuss it. Videos, podcasts, and Twitter are not so good for that, I think. So, I hope that this time, I manage to keep the required discipline to write a blog. Maybe the secret is to write about something you like.
About discuss, I have a lot of opinions about software engineering. Maybe they are all wrong, and I’m not worried about that; actually, I really love to discuss software because it was in this way I built my opinions over time, opened my mind, and learned (and I keep learn) a lot of things. I try to keep a “Strong Opinions, Weakly Held” mindset.
So, I have opinions, a lot, and I’ll try to expose that here.
Another good personal reason to start a blog is I’m trying to improve my English. I think writing something is a good way of training. I hope that helps.
